Ancient Crafts - A series of workshops exploring textile crafts
This course (run by Archaeology for Communities in the Highlands) will consist of a series of workshops, looking at different ancient textile crafts.

In each workshop participants will learn how to do the craft and work towards making an item which they will be able to take home with them.

The courses run on consecutive Saturdays from the 8th - 29th of November.

Storytelling at Nairn Museum this October
Come and hear stories read by their local authors!

Monday 20th October at 11am
Ewan McNeil reads extracts from "Grandad Shines Stars". Set in Nairn during WWII, the story features many well-known local spots.

Friday 24th October at 2pm
Frances Mary Hendry reads from "A Quest for a Kelpie", one of her most popular Quest novels.

Monday 13th October at 2pm.
Alan Barron and Helen Wright talk about and read “The Bee an’ the Stane”.

Friday 17th October at 2pm.
Frances Mary Hendry reads some of her stories from “Jenny”, all about a little girl growing up in Fishertown.

Loss of a Local Nairn Businessman
It is with great regret that we announce the death of Alan Watson of R.M.Watson & Son in Nairn last weekend. Many of our visitors will know Alan as a popular local businessman and also from the oil painting by Jason Walker that we have on display in the museum.

Our thoughts go to Alan's family and everyone who knew him at this difficult time.
