Back by popular demand at the Nairn Museum from 5th July and now extended until 30th October, ‘Moving Automata’ a wonderful show, not to be missed!

Maria and Michael Start and The House of Automata, Britain’s only specialist Automata company, are delighted to be exhibiting their very special collection at the Nairn Museum. See a video of the exhibition here

Demonstrations will be held on the mornings of saturday 4th, 11th, 18th & 25th September*, all starting at 11am. *Note: these are provisional dates/to be confirmed; please call the Museum to check 01667 456791.

Situated in Viewfield House, Nairn Museum offers visitors and locals alike a fascinating insight into the life and times of the town and surrounding area over the centuries. The wide range of permanent displays featuring various aspects of Nairn's history are well laid out and informative and, in addition a huge collection of archive material is available for study. Each year there is also a special programme of visiting exhibitions.

The Museum particularly welcomes children, providing a range of pick-up-and-touch exhibits and a safe play area.

Disabled facilities - wheelchair and stair lift available.

Nairn Museum is staffed by Volunteers. It is through the hard work of these volunteers both front of house and behind the scenes that allows the Museum to remain open.

Monday - Friday           10am - 4.30pm    

Saturday                      10am - 1pm

Sunday                         CLOSED

(Last admission half an hour before closing)

Museum's 2010 Season commenced 29th March and closes October 29th.

Family (2+2) £6.00

* Please note that Unaccompanied Children will not be admitted to the Museum. Thank you for your co-operation.

You can also become a Friend of Nairn Museum for a minimum donation of £12.50 (£25 for a family of 4). This entitles you to unlimited entry to the Museum during our open Season, a bi-annual Newsletter, and an invitation to Friend's Days at the Museum.
